Couch to 50k new cover reveal!

Reading time: 1 minutes

Something seems to have shifted in the last couple of weeks. I almost feel like I'm back to normal. Chores are getting done, I'm spending less time taking much needed naps, and I'm actually getting back to writing.

I've also made some progress on that whole uploading my back catalogue to new sites thing I mentioned way back in May. And with NaNoWriMo just around the corner, what better time to give Couch to 50k a bit of a spruce up?

How cool is that?

Couch to 50k was one of the last covers I had designed by a freelance designer, and while I absolutely love the work she did, it never quite managed to convey what the book was actually about effectively. That was largely my fault; I love that sofa stock image but it makes the whole thing look less like a writing book and more like a treatise on interior design.

Lesson learned for this time around.

I've only just noticed that the typewriter in the stock photo appears to have a Polish keyboard. Which just makes the whole thing cooler for this keyboard nerd.

I'm also working on updating the cover for the print version, but that takes a little more time. Mostly because I always order a preview copy to do quality checks before the changes go live. I never want any of my readers to have less than my best.

If you know someone who's thinking about doing NaNoWriMo this year, feel free to suggest my little book to them. It's full of tips and tricks on how to write 50,000 words in a month, which is no small feat, without completely wrecking yourself in the process. All the advice featured in Couch to 50k was learned the hard way, because I am not always the most sensible of people.

I should probably take my own advice to be honest. I’m told it’s pretty good.
